Here’s the problem

Somewhere around secondary school, sport stops feeling like it’s for girls. It isn’t about ability — it’s about being watched, judged, and never feeling good enough. So they walk away.

43%

of teenage girls who once loved sport drop out in their teens — vs 24% of boys.1

68%

say a fear of being judged is what stops them taking part.1

78%

avoid sport altogether when they have their period.1

80%

of girls say they feel like they don’t belong in sport.1

We’re here to flip that. A gym where girls belong, lift heavy, and leave taller.

the good stuff

Why lifting, though?

Because it’s one of the most proven things a growing body — and mind — can do. Not about getting smaller. About getting strong.

🦴

Strong bones for life

The teen years are peak bone-building time. Lifting lays down bone density you keep for decades — and the gains stick around years after.2

Confidence that carries

In one 12-week programme, girls got ~40% stronger and reported more belief in their physical ability — and in life generally.3

🧠

A calmer, brighter mind

Strength training is linked to real drops in anxiety and low mood — a genuine lift for mental health, not just muscles.2

🫶

Body image, rebuilt

When the focus is what your body can do — not how it looks — girls feel better about themselves, full stop.4

🛡️

Injury-proofing

Stronger muscles, tendons and joints mean fewer injuries in every other sport she plays.2

🎉

Belonging

An all-girl squad, zero judgement, everyone cheering everyone on. The bit you can’t measure — but matters most.

Busting the myths

“Lifting stunts your growth.”

Nope. With coaching and good technique it’s safe — there’s never been a growth-plate injury reported in a youth resistance-training study, and no evidence it affects height.5

“It’ll make girls bulky.”

It won’t. Teens build strength, coordination and confidence long before size. You get capable, not “bulky”.

“Weights are just for boys.”

Absolutely not. Girls get every benefit boys do — and in an all-girl space, without the pressure.

“She’s too young for the gym.”

Not with us. Supervised, age-appropriate training is recommended by paediatric and strength-and-conditioning bodies alike.2

no scary gym-bro energy

for the grown-ups

Safe hands

  • Female strength & conditioning coaches leading every session
  • Safeguarding-first: small groups, supervised, all-girl environment
  • Life skills built in — sessions have included first aid & CPR
  • Age-appropriate, technique-first coaching — never “ego lifting”
Is lifting safe for my child?

Yes — when it’s supervised and coached, which is exactly how we run it. Major paediatric and strength bodies back youth resistance training.5

My daughter has never done sport. Is that OK?

Perfect, actually. Most of our girls start exactly there. Everything is scaled to the individual.

How much does it cost?

Free for children receiving Free School Meals (your school provides a voucher). Limited paid places otherwise.

Where are you based?

LN CrossFit, 19 Earlsfield Close, Lincoln, LN6 3RT.
